Terms of Use

BookNok grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the BookNok application for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or distribute the app or its content.

You must be 13 years or older to use BookNok. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree not to:

• List items that are not books, or misrepresent a book's condition.
• Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
• Post spam, illegal content, or content that violates another person's rights.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.

Violations may result in immediate account termination.

BookNok is a marketplace platform. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not handle payment, shipping, or guarantee the accuracy of any listing. All transactions are solely between the buyer and seller. You agree to resolve any disputes directly.

You retain ownership of content you post (listings, photos, messages). By posting, you grant BookNok a worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content solely to operate the service. You confirm you have the right to share any content you post.

All BookNok trademarks, logos, software, and design are owned by BookNok. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our brand assets.

BookNok is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free or always available. We are not responsible for the actions of other users.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookNok shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or any transactions between users. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which for most users is $0, as the app is free).

You may stop using BookNok and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or for any other reason with or without notice. Sections 6–8 survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BookNok is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

By providing your mobile phone number and checking the SMS opt-in box — either during account registration in the app or when submitting a support request — you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from BookNok at that number. Your consent is not required as a condition of creating an account, using the app, or receiving support.

• Message types: Transactional marketplace notifications (e.g., a buyer has requested your book, a pickup is ready), account security alerts, and support follow-up communications.
• Message frequency: Varies based on your account activity and support interactions.
• Opt out: Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages will be sent to that number.
• Help: Reply HELP to any message or email legal@booknok.com.
• Rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.
• Carriers: Supported carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

BookNok will not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. For full details on how we handle phone numbers, see our Privacy Policy.
